Cynthia (Cindy) Gunn graduated from MLC School in 1960 after spending ten formative years as a Boarder, from in Year 2 in 1951. In her final year, she served as a Boarding House Prefect and was part of the Wearne Library Committee.

Cindy later studied teaching at the University of Wollongong and went on to build a distinguished teaching career in Switzerland, where she became a cherished member of her local community.

Cindy often reflected fondly on her time at MLC School, describing it as a caring and academically rigorous environment that shaped her deeply. She especially treasured the camaraderie among Boarders, recalling creative ways they entertained themselves—like crafting playing cards from pressed leaves when real ones were banned. These shared experiences forged strong bonds that she likened to sisterhood.

In 2019, Cindy’s enduring affection for MLC School was evident when she travelled from Switzerland to present the School with a significant donation. This generous gift played a key role in establishing the School’s Indigenous Education program, ensuring lasting impact on future generations.

Cindy’s story exemplifies the lifelong connection many students maintain with MLC School and highlights her commitment to education, community, and giving back.
