The result is the remarkable achievements attained by the women of MLC School who have been educated to be agents of change in their own lives and the lives of others.
As a member of the MLC School community, your philanthropic support is vital in helping us ensure our passion for excellence in girls’ education and vision of inspiring young women, reaches as many deserving girls as possible.
For further information on how you can make an impact, please contact MLC School Development Manager, David Osborne, by email or call 02 8741 3161.
Since MLC School was founded it has fostered girls to set their own directions and create new expectations around what women can achieve academically, in the arts, the sciences and in all aspects of their lives.
Your generous support for girls with gifts and talents opens the doors to the School for girls today to follow in these footsteps and continue the outstanding tradition MLC School women have established as innovative, creative, capable women who genuinely contribute to making the world a better place.
Donations to the Scholarship Fund are fully tax-deductible. We welcome gifts of any size. Each and every one makes a genuine contribution to the lives of the girls at the School now and into the future.
We believe that our School should be diverse and equitable, offering opportunities to girls who would not be able to attend by virtue of their financial circumstances. Given the chance to experience an MLC School education, these girls will flourish and grow to their potential. The Bursary Initiative aims to grow our connection with girls in two ways:
The Principal’s Scholarship is for a Year 10 girl to extend herself during her final two years and experience all the benefits of MLC School in Year 11 and Year 12.
The Indigenous Scholarship is for girls of all ages from the local community who will continue the School’s long connection with, and support for, Indigenous students.
Your generous support for girls through the Bursary Initiative will open the doors to the School for many girls and truly transform their lives.
There is a wealth of research that student learning and wellbeing is directly impacted by the physical environment. MLC School aims to provide the resources needed to meet the current and future needs of the girls in a sustainable, but exceptional manner.
The momentum for renewal and maintenance is ongoing as we continue to evolve and adapt to suit the changing needs of educational delivery and facilitate a breadth of co-curricular exploration for girls.
By contributing to the Building Fund you will support the School’s vision.
Though your time as a student at MLC School is over, your connection here will never end; you will always be part of the fabric of the School, as one of our cherished Old Girls.
A paver in your name is a permanent tribute to your school days, and your family’s connection to MLC School.

Leaving a bequest to MLC School gives you the satisfaction of knowing you have helped ensure MLC School’s future and that your gift will change the lives of the girls for the better.
Your gift will support MLC School girls as they dare to be more, provide opportunities to young girls wishing to attend MLC School and enable our School to remain a leader in girls’ education.
Any legacy of any size makes a difference. Evangelyn Carr (1951) is passionate about giving back to the community and is an example of an MLC School Old Girl who has been an agent of change in her own life and in the lives of others. Please read her story here.
A note about bequests:
A bequest is a special kind of gift, one that takes consideration and contemplation.
It helps if you discuss your intentions with the School before you finalise legal or financial arrangements. While some donors choose to give a bequest anonymously, the School would appreciate talking with you about how your gift will benefit the School. Your plans will be kept completely private and confidential.
When you inform MLC School that you have left a bequest you can choose to become a member of the Ellen Schofield Society, which is a means by which MLC School can recognise and thank you during your lifetime. This is an honorary membership in recognition of your generosity and foresight. The Society honours Mrs Ellen Schofield who, in 1891, made the first donation of 2000 pounds to the School to build the dining hall (now the School Chapel) and another 800 pounds for the entrance tower. Her generosity and commitment to the School is forever remembered through the Society.
